Ryan Makes Friends at Dinner

So as I alluded to in my previous post I had a lot on my mind. Well after the smoke cleared and the dust settled I decided to take a job back in KS and leave the wonderful world of Kutztown, PA and Sposto Interactive. I'm not going to get into the details of who, what, when, and why. Sorry... but I don't think a blog is place to get into it.

With that being said I know am in a rush to do all the things that I have not done on this strange and exotic planet called "The East Coast". I had wanted to eat some real sea food since I figured that land-locked KS just doesn't get it done in that department. So I convinced Kim to come with me as we in a round about way found the Crab Barn in Reading, PA.

Lucky me ...it was a very nice establishment. What that means in "Ryan Terms" is that they served mixed drinks that costs more than $2.00 and the waitress had actually read the menu. So it just so happened that it was all you can eat snow crab legs and blue back crabs (I might have messed up the names, but it was something like that). After an orderve and a round of drinks Kim and started in my glorious adventure into the Wet and Wild World of Sea Food. It was great, I pretty much lost every battle with the blue crab guy. But since they decided to give me his entire body, we hung out and I had Kim take a picture of him and for a keep sake... he did give his life for me after all and I felt it wrong to just throw him away without giving him just props. Then it was onto the snow crab legs. At this point I had continued to have a couple more beers and I just could not resist playing with my food. I'm just going to say sorry to the 3 other table left in Crab Barn at 8:30 on a Tuesday. It was to much fun and I just couldn't help myself.

In the end I learned that you have to be careful breaking the shells off these guys. I have a nasty cut on my hand from trying to be a tough guy and crack it open without the tool. Also it does take a lot of skill to actually get any meat out of there. I think I prolly would have gone home hungry if Kim had not begun to fed me after I crushed, broke, snapped, and chewed on the all the shell creatures on my plate to no avail.
